Yesterday, I went to visit my Aunt Carol and Uncle Felix in Mississippi. We had a wonderful visit ! The only thing though -- my Aunt is a great COOK, so don't yall know I had to sample just about EVERYTHING she had ??
She first tempted me with the nuts and cheese and sausage (a low carber's delight)... but then the smells from the oven -- Oh my ! Ham, sweet potato, warm buns, & baked beans... HELLO ! T-e-m-p-a-t-a-t-i-o-n set in and THIS Louisiana gal just HAD to sample everythang. So, I must confess, along with everyone else doing their low carb blogs.. I cheated too !
I went back to he 'low carb' lifestyle by having two hamburger patties for dinner last nite.
On a good note, I did go to the gym & exercised for one hour yesterday morning AND I walked two miles to my Leslie Sansone dvd.

This morning, I ate two scrambled eggs with a slice of ham. For lunch I had ham & cheese on toast with pickles and pepperjack cheese !

- 🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

Hey, for whatever reasons I was having trouble accessing your website. Until now! Great posts, i enjoy reading them! First, dont worry about getting to your low weihgt. Believe me you, YOU WILL KNOW when you get there! Your body is smarter, way smarter than any doctor! Second, you dont need to exercise in the gym all the time, you can get a good work out at home when a gym is not accessible. I dont know evertyhing, but I know my exercises, I have been involved in sports or exercise in one capacity or another all my life. ALl you have to do to kick start your day as far as exercise goes is do high intensity 15 min compund routine. And all you need for that is your own body and mind. You do 3 sets of each: squats ( you can use a wall and chair in the beginning ) and for more difficulty try to sit still for as long as you can hold it on the last set ) than immediately go to pushups may be modified if you cant do regular. Than deadlits, if you know how to them correctly. Last you just do jumping jucks for two minutes, and boom you are done! You will raise your metabolic rate like its nobodys business. When it comes to cheating with your aunt' food, dont you worry about it. It will do more good than harm! First its your aunt's all natural, made with real love food, cant possibly be bad for you!!!! Second you didnt go all the way, like me! Third you went back to low carb right away, speaking of self-control, you go girl. Remember its not the small cheats here and there that will doom you, its the consistent big ones that stump on your weight loss! Happy Holidays!
Loved your comment... "low natural, made with love' Aww aint you a sweetie pie ! you are right, there are exercises I CAN do at home. I do the Leslie Sansone DVD's and was into Denise Austin for about 24 year until they took HER off of LIfetime Cable (HUGE MISTAKE THERE).
What I DON"T like to do is any type of exercise where I have to JUMP, like aerobics, Jane Fonda type stuff.
I DID find what they called a 'medicine ball' at the gym the other day. Its those HUGE balls you exercise with. One exercise involved lying on the ground , face up -- placing the ball between my feet, lifting my feet off of the floor and passing it to my arms, which are outstretched to reach to the ball, and bringing my arms up over my head but not touching the ball and bringing my legs and feet back up to transfer the ball to my feet, ALL WHILE LAYING ON MY BACK !!! Try that one sometime :)
Thanks for the encouragement. I'll try to do the jumping jacks. Thanks for the encouragement, & I'm glad you found my site !!
Remember a key to exercise is having fun!As soon as it becomes a chore you are doomed! You have got to keep it fun! Some people like dancing and aerobics, it coulsd be fun. Some like me love weights, lots of fun, especially when you do them with other guys. Fun to make those little girls cry when they cant match my weihgts. And its soemthing about lifting heavy that gives me macho rush. You know guys pumping their big chests in an effort to feel super manly. My ex once joked about it saying that guys do it to compensate for other smalles accomplishments. She thought she had a funny sense of humor. She once said laying in my bed and looking around " Yeaps and your appartment looks small too " and started lauphing. Bet you nothing is small about my appratment! Anyway I had a last lauph by throwing her out of my so called small apprtment after 4 years. Now she is begging to have me back! But I am moving on, she is sent to archives, out with the old in with a new! But then again I am known to be a sucker for a woman in distress! I have no idea how I drifted from a subject and where I am at this point. Basically what I was trying to say is for you to have fun, both with your exercise routine and your work and your man I guess. Was it what I was trying to say? I guess it was!
YOU are too funny ! I 'flip" my man over once every 7 years, just to keep things 'interesting' :)hahah
You made my day. Have a Blessed Christmas !
