About Me

🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

"Getting Ready"

This is a test. It is only a test.

If this were your actual life, you would be given better instructions.

Life is a test, isn't it ?

I spent most of the afternoon and into the early evening at the orthopedist's office with my son yesterday. He had sprained his foot, this time playing football with some neighborhood kids a couple of weeks ago, and is only now coming to complain about it ?? Right.

The orthopedist gave him some type of 'sandal' to slide his foot into that has velro straps. Another two weeks and he should be as good as new. Reminder : This is ONLY a test. LOL

I worked out today for 1 1/2 hours at the gym. Switching up my routing and 'confusing' the muscle memory really seems to be paying off. I find that doing the weight machines FIRST, then the cardio, it gives me more stamina. I am going for more repetitions, and less weight.

Breakfast :

4 Jimmy Dean Sausages on wheat

Lunch :

Grilled Chicken Breast, Broccili with cheese , Diet Coke

For Supper : Chicken strips, one boiled egg, and half a dinner roll.

I'm really in a happy mood lately. I just hate fighting traffic, waiting for the doctor, etc... But at least I"M NOT THE ONE BEING SEEN BY THE DOCTOR. So that really is A GOOD THANG !!

Have a Blessed Evening !

That wouldn't be much of a test for me, Bayoubabe. I wear bunny slippers everywhere I go. :)

Seriously though, great going on the exercise. I'm sure that's contributing to your happy state o' mind!

Keep up the fine work!

I need to work on that a lil more myself. I love to walk outside. It's 0 degrees F. here this morning with a wind chill of -25 so that is out for me today. LOL
