This blog is dedicated to the low-carb menu challenge presented by Jimmy Moore. I'm living the Louisiana low carb lifestyle, where low-carb is the new way to go ! I live southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana....have three awesome kids. We are deep down in the heart of sweet Cajun Country, where we kick back and relax, go hunting, fishing, or make groceries! My doctor told me that my blood pressure numbers were getting too high, so I had to loose weight. She challenged me with ten pounds in three months. That was October 7, 2008. I lost 26 pounds !!! In February of 2011, I found that I had gained a few pounds more than I would have liked, weighing in at 170 pounds. I had to get back into the swing of living the low carb life again !! I am loving the 'low-carb' style and wish to contiue it . I exercise three times a week at the gym, and off the 'off' days, I learn to RELAX !! November 2011, finds me in different circumstances -- a new lifestyle, great community of friends and a challenge to keep that 45 pounds that I lost OFF. When is LESS -- MORE ??





Thought for today :

I'm doing *everything* right ! Watching the carbs, exercising, etc. Then WHY is the weight loss So slow ? You got me.  I think I lost another pound. For the past month, the scale is going week by week S-L-O-W-LY. First week I lost four pounds, then a couple of weeks later I lost one. Now I think I have lost a total of six pounds -- but then again, It has only been a month ! JIMMY MOORE  can loose more weight than that in one week !

I asked one of my fitness instructors what may be the reason WHY. She says as long as I am loosing inches (which I am !) that I am probably gaining MUSCLE . Ok , I'm supposed to get excited here, right ?  Fat- turning into muscle. Muscle weighs more. But I'm really NOT excited I'd rather loose the weight. 

If anyone has any answers to this mystery, please FEEL FREE TO COMMENT !!

So here are my choices :  Loose inches - gain muscle. Loose weight - fat remains. WHY CAN'T THEIR BE AN IN-BETWEEN ??  Ohhh, the places we go !!

March 1st. It's such a beautiful day here in New Orleans, sunny skies, and cool temps. I was able to get outside today, .. venturing to Anytime Fitness for a Body Vibe and Body Flow exercise class.  Dare I join in tonight for a Body Pump (weightlifting class) ? Only time will tell !!  I hope everyone has a nice day !!

Jimmy Moore is a man, 250 pounds, eats VERY clean and exercises a lot.

It could be a number of things:

Processed food, calories too high, gaining muscle etc etc. If you're losing inches, that is most important.
