🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

Brunch it to me !!



I hope everyone is having a wonderful day !! Here is what I had for brunch :  two eggs - sunny side  up, bacon, 3 slices wheat bread, handful of blueberries and blackberries.  (bread = 25 carbs; blackberries and blueberries = 11 carbs)

I rode my bicycle around our town for 40 minutes, and walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes today.

Hey there stranger! How much do you want to lose? Are you on any plan or basically trying to cut down in calories? Or you do want to go back to low carb?

Hey you ! I would like to loose the 10 pounds I gained recently. I've lost 5-6 of those pounds already. I am really trying to go back to low carb. I am exercising regularly, etc. It is just coming off REALLY slowly this time around. If I can loose the 10 pounds that 'found me... " I'd be happy - then take it from there. :) Yeah, Long time no see, how ya been ?

I gained 55 pounds ina past year. You have done well and I am sure this 10 pounds you will lose in no time.

YES, I am back on low carb again !!

Your carbs are too high for you not to mind calories and portions. That meal was easily 600 calories.

How tall are you? I am 5'4 and 125 and I have to cut calories below 1400 to lose. I can maintain around 1600.

I've *never* relied on counting calories. JUST carbs. I exercise a LOT.

You are right though, moderation is the key. But if that is my only meal for the day, then whats 600 calories ??

I'm going to have to take a serious look back at the flaws. Oooh dear Lord.. lol.. *cry*

oh! I thought that was one of 3 meals. That's a perfectly fine meal if you are IF-ing. You could even bump it to higher calories, especially if you exercise a lot.
