"Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez"
Let the good times Roll ! It's Mardi Gras weekend here in the Big Easy !!!! Time for some King Cake, Hot Beignets, po-boys.... Oh wait ! That's a low carber's nightmare :))
The streets will be rolling with Mardi Gras floats and revelers this weekend. Should be a wonderful way to pass a good time :) Exercise can include lots of WALKING, chasing the floats for beads, picking up beads and doubloons off of the ground AND tossing the beads to other people way back in the crowd, once you have enough for yourself. You'll probably have the chance to park far away from the parade route, so that's a plus in my book to get in that extra bit of WALKING.

Its a beautiful sunny morning here. I'm finally getting myself pulled together.
I have a massage scheduled and I'm looking forward to that. My birthday is next Friday, so I hope to have great weather and a good time next weekend :) How much more can this southern gal ask for ? :))
For breakfast, I had four Jimmie Dean sausages on one slice of wheat toast. It is supposed to be weigh in day at the gym, but since I"m not going there today, I will just exercise at home. I think everyone needs a 'break' from the gym and do something different.
For lunch I ate double hamburger meat from Mc Donald's on wheat bread with my 100 calorie pouch of Cheeto Puffs.
Have a Blessed Day !

Sounds like a fun weekend ahead! Chasing beads is probably great exercise. :)
Have lots of fun at Mardi Gras, BayouBabe!
I've never been to MG but I've heard it's a wild time! Enjoy and report back! :)
Mardi Gras.. you lucky girl. I love jazz and I also play the sax. My favorite musician is Charlie Parker who frequented New Orleans.

Enjoy :)
I love Harry Connick, Jr. and Al Hirt... Ever heard of the Dirty Dozen Brass Brand ?

Every been to a jazz funeral.. ? OR ate funeral food. We KNOW how to cook down here :)
(BEING DEAD IS NO EXCUSE: THE OFFICIAL SOUTHERN LADIES GUIDE TO HOSTING THE PERFECT FUNERAL by Gayden Metcalfe.)
It's a quick read with belly laughs and lots of recipes for "restorative cocktail", "cup homemade mayonnaise" & of course, "pimiento cheese".
Perhaps someone will write on on "Low Carb" funeral foods" lol
Have fun and make sure you fill us in. I've never been to Mardi Gras either. So again I will be living through you....LOL
Have a great time.
