About Me

🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

Happy Easter !!

Happy Easter !

Hope yours was a great one.

Weather was beautiful, but hot here in New Orleans. A cool 80 degrees !! I spent most of my day cooking...

What low carb options reached your plate today ? Ham is always great. Eggs are a good low carb staple as well. I'm sure for the next week, we'll find half a dozen or so ways to cook all of the leftover ham and boiled eggs.

Speaking of eggs, has anyone actually tried Jimmy Moore's egg diet ? He is doing VERY well ! I'm tempted to try it, but not sure if I could stick with JUST eggs. I'd have to throw some of that Easter ham in there for sure.

How did YOU spend your Easter ??

Happy belated, Easter!

I actually spent the day alone working. My wife was away on a business trip. The highlight of the day was picking my lady up at the airport around 10:00 PM. :-)

I really didn't eat anything all that interesting. Nothing festive. Unless you consider some homemade (low carb) almond-hazelnut pancakes to be interesting. Pretty tasty and nutritious too.

I hope you have a wonderful week, BB!

PS - I've read a little about Jimmy's egg diet. His results are outstanding. My only concern is the nighttime heartburn I've seen him mention. I hope it passes soon. I'm happy to see he's ditched the diet soda as well. That can only help.
