About Me

🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

Superbowl Party -- Low Carb Style !!!!

Who can forget our home town boy, Peyton Manning ???

It's that time of year again... another reason to forget about the carbs, but you don't have too ! Check out these ideas and recipes below and become the life of the party :)

Low Carb Super Bowl Party!

A low carb party? Is it possible? Yes! Here are ideas for your Super Bowl Party this Sunday, with finger foods and classic Super Bowl fare – only low in starches and sugars. When people walk in the door there should be nibbles out, such as these Five Minute Sweet and Spicy Pecans. And since vegetables should always near the center of any food event, have a platter of raw and blanched veggies for dipping, along with some healthy Garlic Parmesan Flax Crackers. For dips, try my Super-Easy Guacamole or Four Red Pepper Dip (a yummy blend of sweet, spicy, smoky, and piquant red chilis).

If you and your guests will be drinking alcoholic beverages, be sure to Check the Carb Counts First.Next, we move on to those Super Bowl Classics, Wings and Chili. For something different, try Chicken Wings with Spicy Peach Dipping Sauce and the unusual but very tasty Cincinnati Chili. Your guests will be asking, “What’s in that chili?” Make them guess!

Another option is to serve pizza made with Flax Meal Pizza Crust.

For dessert, what could be better than something delicious and portable like brownies? If you pass these Miracle Brownies around, I guarantee your guests will be giving you compliments about the intense chocolate flavor – it won’t occur to them that these confections could possibly be sugar-free, low carb, and really nutritious. A nice thing about these recipes is that they can all be made ahead. You can enjoy the game instead of hanging out in the kitchen - so kick back and have fun! More Low Carb Super Bowl Party Ideas

Wow, Harry! Thanks! No time to try them today, but very soon-they all sound wonderful. And it looked like plenty of normal-seeming, sweet stuff that would make you feel un-deprived.
