About Me

🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

Down , but not Out.

I had a REALLY bad day yesterday, not food-wise, but I let a little sheet of paper I received in the mail with some news on it get the best of me. How I allowed such a thing, and give it power is beyond me ! Thanks to my friends, and some much needed prayer time, I was able to best deal with the situation, and am proceeding in the right direction.

For lunch today I had

100 Calorie Cheetos Puffs (9 carbs)

Two Slices of Wheat bread

One Slice Cheese

Chicken Breast and Turkey Breast

Lipton Diet Iced Tea

Exercised for one hour with my 'medicine ball', those inflatable balls you see at the gym, very cheap, less than $10 at Wal Mart. I recently subscribed to some sports channels on Cox Cable tv out here and one of the channels is called the 'Fitness Channel.' Today they exercised with those medicine balls, -- quite a workout ! Also , went walking this afternoon around our town.
For dinner, I had chicken salad on one slice of wheat, mozzarella & cheddar cheese slices & 3 strawberries cut up, and smothered with whipped cream ! Yummy !!

Hope you're feeling better. Reaching out to friends and prayer is a very good thing to do. Good job in staying on track with eating.

Babeyoubabe, thats some name alright! But do you have a real name? If not make one, lol. I dont like to call people by their nicknames looks like jail, babe10, pooti108 and so on. Ok, enouph with that, I think you get the picture. I have been craving to visit New Orleans for the longest time, may be this summer! Listen I told Harry one time how to deal with stress. It works, at least in theory. Next time you are really pissed off, pretend you are a palm tree! Did you know that palm trees are the strongest trees in nature and can withstand winds up to 130 miles an hour? They are able to do that due to their very flexible nature. They never resisit the storm, they bend down to it and wait for it to go away! Then after the storm is out, they spring back up and whaloo! I know easier said than done, but..... What works for me is I close my eyes and pretend I am being tickled by a liitle baby lauphing hysterically! I remembe when I was in my teens and my neice was one year old she loved to tickle me and would lauph hysterically doing it. Kids are nothing but love. La Tzu a famous spiritual teacher once defined love as pure ego-free entitiy. He said if one wants to see love, all you have to do is to remove ego from yourself and all that is left is pure love! So next time someone gives you hard time, pretend you are being tickled by a baby who is lauphing hysterically or be a palm tree! Lol, hope you feel better!
