About Me

🌾 Welcome to My Low‑Carb Life As of January 2026, I’ve started a new chapter: I recently began the GLP‑1 Wegovy pill to help me get back on track with my weight‑loss goals. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve gained back some of the weight I once worked so hard to lose — so this is my reset moment. My journey began in 2008, when my doctor warned me about rising blood pressure and challenged me to lose ten pounds in three months. I ended up losing 26. By 2011, life had shifted again, and I recommitted to the low‑carb lifestyle that helped me feel strong and steady. And today, I’m still committed — just with new tools, new wisdom, and a whole lot more grace for myself. I live just outside New Orleans, deep in sweet Cajun Country, where we hunt, fish, “make groceries,” and enjoy the simple things. I exercise three times a week and practice relaxing on the off days. My immediate goal is to lose 15 pounds, and I’m focused on moving forward with intention and consistency. So pull up a chair and stay a spell — this blog follows my low‑carb journey, my Southern roots, and now, my Wegovy pill adventure.

🎉 Wegovy Birthday Update: 13 Pounds Down & Feeling the Shift

ðŸŽ‰ Wegovy Birthday Update: 13 Pounds Down & Feeling the Shift

Six weeks into this Wegovy GLP‑1 journey, I’ve officially reached 145 pounds — 13 pounds down! I’m on day 10 of the 4 mg pill, after completing a full month on the 1.5 mg dose. And because life loves good timing, I get to celebrate this milestone right alongside my birthday. A little lighter, a little stronger, and a whole lot more proud.

As I’ve stepped into the higher dose, a few things have made themselves known:

Increased thirst — I’m drinking more than usual, like my body is asking for water before anything else.

Lower appetite — My hunger cues are quieter, meals are smaller, and I’m not thinking about food the way I used to.

Daily movement — I’m walking a mile every day, keeping my body warm, loose, and moving forward.

Mind–body balance — Yoga continues to help me stretch, breathe, and stay grounded.

Strength training — I’m adding in muscle‑building work to support my metabolism and keep everything toned and functional.

These shifts together have changed the flow of my days. I’m hydrating more, eating slower, and staying intentional about movement — not just for weight loss, but for strength, flexibility, and overall well‑being. Everyone’s experience is different, and anything that feels persistent or concerning is always something to bring up with a healthcare professional.

But today is about celebration. I’m celebrating progress, celebrating consistency, celebrating the version of me that’s showing up every day, and celebrating another birthday with a little more confidence and a lot less weight on my knees
